The police chief told council members that a survey he distributed to the council originated from a multi-county, recovery-oriented service provider connected to Logan County and is being used as background for a task deflection initiative.
“The survey that I distributed out to all of you, I received from Logan County. Well, it's it's a multi county... recovery oriented and service provider,” the police chief said, describing the survey’s source and noting that participating agencies are collecting information ahead of the initiative’s next meeting later this month.
The chief said the group will hold a three-day workshop at Hope on 5th and invited council members to stop by and offer input. He said this will be the second workshop he has participated in and that the collected information will feed the task deflection discussions.
Alderman Parikh said he took the survey and found some questions unclear, noting he wished there had been more definition of certain terms so respondents could answer with greater confidence.
Council members did not take formal action on the initiative during the meeting; the chief encouraged members to attend the workshop and review the survey results with the task force.
