Oregon City commission elects president, adopts two ordinances; directs staff on youth vaping resolution

The commission voted 4–0, with Smith abstaining from the presidential vote, to elect Rocky Smith as commission president. The consent agenda passed unanimously earlier in the meeting.
The commission approved second reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 241010, which revises the Oregon City Municipal Code Titles 16 (Land Divisions) and 17 (Zoning) to add clear-and-objective approval criteria implementing the Park Place concept plan. The roll-call vote on Ordinance 241010 was recorded as: Commissioner Adam Marl — Aye; Commissioner Mike Mitchell — Aye; Commissioner Scott Wilson — Aye; Commissioner Rocky Smith — Aye; Mayor Denise McGriff — Aye. The motion passed.

Commissioners also reached consensus to ask staff to investigate what it would take for Oregon City itself to ban flavored nicotine sales.
