The commission received updates Dec. 18 on two local dam-repair projects. Carly Rocklin, the town conservation agent, told the commission that the Ellis Pond dam seal has been replaced, the structure is not leaking and that the contractor will coordinate with the Department of Public Works on gate maintenance going forward.

Rocklin also said repairs at the Willepon Dam are ongoing and that the project team expects substantial completion around the contractor’s Dec. 25 deadline; she attended a 50% project meeting and said communications would continue as work proceeds. Commissioners noted visible site work and a floating work platform at the Willepon location.
