Catoosa County schools honor Golden Apple teacher and seven students named to all‑state jazz band

Board members and staff presented Carolyn Parker, a kindergarten teacher at Graysville Elementary, with the Golden Apple award after a parent nomination and television recognition. Parker said she was "honored to be in Catoosa County" and noted her long ties to local schools.
Separately, district staff and board members celebrated Ringgold High School and district music students after seven were selected to the all‑state jazz band. A presenter said the statewide program accepts 19 high‑school students; Catoosa County supplied seven of those students, representing more than one‑third of the ensemble. The presenters credited after‑school and before‑school practices, elementary music teachers and parent support for the students' success.
Board members praised teachers, administration and parents for supporting music and arts programs and presented tokens of appreciation to the students.
No formal board action was required for the recognitions.
