During public comment Monday, resident Robert McGowan said he believes he was poisoned at or near the Elks Lodge and that similar incidents have occurred in other Arizona communities. He asked the council, city attorney or police chief for a docket or report number and for an inspection of his home.
McGowan, who identified his address as 1155 South Parr Road, described symptoms including tinnitus, lesions, acidosis and blurred vision and said he believed the poisoning was retaliation for complaints he had made about a government entity. He said he provided police with photos and believes there is video footage at the Lodge and at a nearby home; he said he believes two officers did not review available footage and named Officers Moorhead and Lugo in his remarks. He also named a suspect, Stuart Allman, and said he wanted the city to inspect his home and provide a response.
Council did not respond to the allegations during the public comment period. The council reminded speakers that items not on the agenda generally do not receive an immediate response, and McGowan said he would welcome contact from the chief, city attorney or an outside entity to investigate. The statements made at the meeting are allegations by the speaker; the city did not present independent findings at the meeting.
