The Jacksonville Beach Board of Adjustments postponed two agenda items — BOA 24-10089 and BOA 24-10090 — to the board’s next meeting on Feb. 4, 2025. Both items concern development on properties including 419 5th Avenue North (lot 10) and were presented on the agenda for construction of single-family dwellings.
Board staff and members noted the applicant or applicant representative for BOA 24-10089 (American Classic Homes listed as owner/developer in the agenda) was not present at the hearing. Neighbors in the meeting room identified themselves and asked clarifying questions about the project and tree-ribbon markings; no formal testimony was given in support or opposition. The board moved to postpone both BOA 24-10089 and BOA 24-10090 to the February 4, 2025 meeting to allow applicants time to appear and provide the required materials.
A motion to postpone both items to Feb. 4, 2025 carried on roll-call votes: John Moreland — yes; Jennifer Williams — yes; Laura Tierney — yes; Owen Curley — yes. The transcript noted those items will be re-noticed and that staff materials are available on the city website for public review.
The planning department also announced upcoming dates for draft LDC (land development code) review: a staff workshop in January and first reading of the LDC report to city council on Feb. 3 with council hearings to follow in February; those announcements were posted by planning staff during the meeting.
