The Board of Public Works voted July 6 to approve review of a certified survey map (CSM) and to accept dedication of an additional seven feet of right of way along Lincoln Avenue adjacent to the submitted parcel; staff will refer Resolution 2025-2 to the Common Council for consideration.
Acting Public Works Director Josh Morris said Lincoln Avenue is identified as a minor arterial in the City's comprehensive plan, which requires a minimum right of way of 80 feet. The existing right of way on the segment in question is 66 feet, and the CSM triggers a requirement to dedicate an additional seven feet on the east side adjacent to the parcel under review.
Morris recommended approval of the CSM and the right-of-way dedication. A board member clarified that right-of-way widths are typically centered on the roadway and that the additional seven feet shown on the CSM applies to the parcel being reviewed; the board approved the recommendation by voice vote and will forward Resolution 2025-2 for Common Council action.
No acquisition costs or compensation were discussed; the board's action accepts the dedicated ROW and initiates the council referral process.
