The Republic City Council approved a resolution authorizing execution of a services agreement with Aegis Digitalis for ongoing maintenance and support of software that automates data transfer between the police department's records system (Niche) and the prosecuting attorney's case management system (Resolution 25-R-3). The motion passed unanimously, 6-0.
Megan McCulloch (identified in the transcript as Miss McCulloch) provided the project overview. She said the project began in July 2023, used code shared under an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Springfield to accelerate development, and that the city’s unique software development phase is now complete. Staff reported the automation was turned on the day before the meeting and was running well per the developers' status report.
McCulloch said the resolution authorizes ongoing maintenance and support with Aegis Digitalis. The proposed contract includes a conservative not-to-exceed amount of $75,000 for the first year (developers estimated actual first-year costs likely under $50,000) and an annual option to renew at $20,000 or less in subsequent years. The services are intended to cover software patches, bug fixes, integration issues with Niche, and minor development to make the system fault-tolerant. McCulloch named Tyler Riddle as the developer who performs the technical work. Council voted to adopt the resolution on an immediate vote; motion carried 6-0.
