The school committee voted Monday to remove policy KF-R — the administrative procedures and building-permit form for community use of school facilities — from the Braintree Public Schools policy manual because the town facilities department now controls permits, rules and fees.
Why it matters: removing KF-R updates the policy manual to reflect the town’s control over facility permitting and directs users to town processes rather than a school-department form.
The committee also scheduled the superintendent finalist interview process. Public interviews of three finalists will begin Monday, Jan. 13 (public interviews in Cahill Auditorium) with 55-minute interviews and five-minute breaks; committee members will ask the same set of core questions to each candidate and may follow with brief follow-ups. The committee set a public Zoom meeting for Friday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. to finalize and compile interview questions; members will submit proposed questions to the clerk by Wednesday prior to that meeting so material can be assembled. The committee plans to vote on the finalists during the Jan. 16 meeting.
Votes at a glance: - Remove policy KF-R (community use administrative procedures and building-permit form): motion to remove; mover: Ms. Tufty; outcome: unanimous approval.
Interview logistics: the committee agreed each member would propose questions in advance, the clerk will compile them into a binder, and the Friday meeting will be posted as a public meeting and recorded.
