The Lake County Watershed Protection District, sitting as the board of directors, approved contract change order No. 1 with Coleman Construction for the 2024 Lehi Patrol Road gravel-repair project in Upper Lake.
Director of Water Resources staff reported the change order increases the contract by $5,444 to a total amended price of $169,256.64. Work covered by the change order includes repair of two additional sites adjacent to the project area and rehabilitation of roughly 175 feet (about 0.05 miles) of levee road. The project’s scope includes embankment repairs, subgrade preparation, and placement and compaction of aggregate base over levee patrol roads totaling approximately 1.27 miles (non-contiguous sections).
Staff said sufficient funds are available and that because these are earthen levees, periodic maintenance is expected; the department anticipates inspecting and assessing levee conditions every three to five years and will continue to manage maintenance needs. The board then approved a resolution authorizing the water-resources director to sign a notice of completion for the work performed under the September 10, 2024 agreement; the board recorded the resolution with affirmative votes from the district’s directors.
Ending Staff said the levee repairs will be monitored and the county will continue coordination with tribal partners and resource agencies on future maintenance work and funding.
