St. Louis County introduces new property management director Shane Peterson; says facilities work on track

Shane Peterson was introduced to the St. Louis County Board as the county’s new property management director. Deputy administration staff and Administrator Gray presented Peterson to the board and Peterson addressed commissioners and the audience.
Director Peterson said he began employment Dec. 30 and described recent tours of county facilities with deputy property managers; he reported seeing air-barrier work underway at a project in Hibbing and Virginia and told the board, "unless barring some unforeseen condition, we should be up and operational in the spring here." He also offered his contact information and said he looks forward to working with staff and learning more about district needs.
Deputy administration staff briefed the board that Peterson comes from the University of Minnesota Duluth where he managed campus facilities and construction projects; they said his experience overseeing a large property inventory made him a fit for the county role. Board members welcomed Peterson and noted the county’s ongoing facility work.
