Arrowhead Regional Development Commission introduces new executive director to St. Louis County board

Kristy Kane, the new executive director of the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission, introduced herself during a St. Louis County Board listening session and described ARDC’s programs and outreach.
Kane told board members she recently became executive director after eight years at ARDC, including service as the agency’s aging director. She said ARDC has three divisions — a planning division, an aging division and an MPO/transportation-related division — and said she brought informational materials to share with the board.
“Therevolving loan fund addresses gap funding for new start up businesses, including childcare, which I know is a priority here,” Kane said. The board’s listening-session format is a half-hour slot the St. Louis County Board sets aside for community members and partners to raise items that are not on the formal agenda.
Commissioner Harlan encouraged other board members to meet Kane and praised ARDC’s outreach. “She did so much in the aging division and is now bringing that to light,” Harlan said, adding that the ARDC commission fully supported Kane’s appointment.
No formal actions or votes were taken during the introduction. Kane offered to make materials available to board members and invited follow-up contacts for questions about ARDC programming.
The board remained in its listening-session period following the introductions and public remarks.
