Committee backs annexation north of Cheyenne Street and assigns medium‑density residential zoning

The Public Services Committee on Jan. 6 recommended that City Council approve on third and final reading an ordinance to annex land north of Cheyenne Street and west of Ridge Road into the City of Cheyenne and to assign it MR (medium‑density residential) zoning.
Planning staff told the committee the parcel sits in a county pocket and required city water and sewer service, which motivated the early annexation request. Planning staff said the action and zoning have not changed since second reading and staff remained available for questions.
Developer Shane Hanson of Style Servicing Services told the committee there were no changes since the prior hearing and offered to answer questions; none were asked. There was no public comment during the meeting.
Doctor Ullrich moved to approve; Councilman White seconded. The committee voiced its support by saying "aye" and the recommendation to approve will go to the City Council on Monday night.
