Commissioners accept notices on Scott Township bridge project and regional 138 kV transmission line

County staff said both documents have been forwarded to the county planning office for its records. Commissioners voted to accept the letters into the record; the roll-call votes recorded Commissioner Sonata, Commissioner Kennedy and Commissioner Vogler voting yes.
Why it matters: The DEP general-permit filing signals an upcoming bridge replacement project in Scott Township that will require permitting for work in or near water obstructions and encroachments. The transmission-line filing identifies a regional electric infrastructure project that includes work inside Lawrence County; planning and right-of-way considerations will proceed through the electric utility’s regulatory and local-permitting processes.
What’s next: Planning staff will review both filings as they proceed through state permitting and utility notification processes; the county did not take any additional action at the Jan. 7 meeting.
