Commissioner Mulligan, who serves on the Lakeland Mental Health Center board, said the board includes two members from each partner county and that Hardin’s experience at the University of Minnesota Extension aligns with the center’s work. Mulligan presented Hardin’s letter of interest and recommended the appointment.
Commissioner Kavanagh seconded the motion and the board approved the appointment by voice vote with commissioners saying “aye.” Hardin was not present at the meeting. The board recorded no objection in the discussion.
The appointment fills a board vacancy left when a prior commissioner resigned; the appointee’s term is three years.
