MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. โ The Village of Machesney Park Board of Trustees on Jan. 6 approved routine business including last meeting's minutes, accepted a treasurer's report showing $44,477,276.72 in all funds and approved warrants totaling $643,271.14. The board also adopted Resolution 2 R 25 to release certain closed-session minutes.
The actions were taken during the regular meeting after a roll call that established a quorum. Trustee Jody Stromberg moved to approve the minutes of the Dec. 16 board meeting; Trustee Bogey seconded the motion and the motion carried. Treasurer Deb Ong presented the treasurer's report, saying, "The treasurer's report as of December 30, 2024 reflects the total of all funds to be $44,477,276.72." Trustee Wilson moved to accept the treasurer's report and Trustee Bailey seconded; the motion was approved by roll call.
Trustee Aaron Wolfslinger reported the administration and finance committee met and presented a warrant list totaling $643,271.14. The board approved payment of those warrants following a motion and second. The consent agenda contained one item: Resolution 2 R 25, described by the village administrator as "regarding the release of closed session minutes." Trustee Bailey moved to approve the consent agenda and Trustee Stromberg seconded. The consent agenda passed on a 6-1 roll call vote, with Trustee Kidd voting no.
Why it matters: routine approvals such as accepting the treasurer's report and clearing warrants move financial oversight and bookkeeping forward; adopting a resolution to release closed-session minutes changes the public record for prior executive sessions.
Other business: the board received several routine administrative reports from department and committee leaders and had no items listed as new business. The meeting adjourned after the consent vote.
