CRA approves purchase of 925 7th Street to support Rose Trolley project

Lifton said the parcel is contiguous to CRA-owned land at 800 North Tamarind Avenue and is intended to support the Rose Trolley project.
Under the purchase terms described in the presentation, CRA would place a $10,000 down payment upon approval, with the $190,000 balance due at closing; CRA staff recommended a closing date of Jan. 30, 2025. The agency agreed to pay title, lien search and deed-recording fees. Lifton told the board the parcel would be used for circulation or parking support for the Rose Trolley project, but staff has not designated a final use.
Jade Green, deputy director with the CRA, said staff had not set a specific plan yet but is exploring circulation and parking options to support Rose Trolley. A project manager identified the lot as a standard residential lot about 50 by 140 feet (approximately 7,000 square feet). Commissioners questioned the appraisal and market comps used to set the $200,000 price; staff said the figure came from comparable sales.
A motion to approve Resolution 25-1 was moved and seconded and carried unanimously as announced in the transcript.
