SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Sumner County Library Board Personnel Committee on Monday approved a written hiring process to guide selection of a new Westmoreland Library director and will send the policy to the full library board for final approval.
The policy approved by the personnel committee establishes an application deadline of three weeks from the date a position is posted, gives the personnel committee chair authority to form a hiring team drawn from committee members, and requires that the hiring team interview selected applicants and present recommended candidate(s) to the full library board for a final vote. The committee adopted the policy by motion; the committee chair said the draft will be polished and circulated before the Wednesday board meeting.
