Sumner County personnel committee adopts hiring process for Westmoreland library director

The Personnel Committee of the Sumner County Library Board voted Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, to adopt a written hiring process for filling the Westmoreland Library director position, the committee chair said.

The new process, which committee members agreed to send to the full library board for final approval, lays out an initial vetting role for the personnel committee chair, an application deadline tied to the job posting, a one‑on‑one interview format of roughly 20 minutes per interviewer and a hiring team made up of committee members that will conduct interviews and recommend a candidate to the board.

The committee chair summarized the steps the panel agreed on and said he would circulate a polished version of the policy before the full board meeting.
