The West Palm Beach City Commission on Jan. 6 approved three linked measures that together fully fund and award the Curry Park redevelopment project, including a contribution agreement with the Community Redevelopment Agency and a $35 million construction contract. The motions passed 4–1 after a debate over the award to West Construction.
The commission voted to approve resolution 17-25 (the contribution agreement between the city and the CRA), resolution 16-25F (an appropriation/transfer to amend the fiscal year 2024–25 capital acquisition budget) and resolution 18-25 (award of the construction contract to West Construction). The package includes approximately $35 million in project funding, of which staff said $8,100,000 is an advance from the city’s general fund to the CRA to cover a gap in financing.
