Commissioners support placing WSU Extension memorandum of agreement on agenda

“It’s a memorandum of agreement that we're going to partner this next year together,” Teutoburg said, describing a shared-cost arrangement in which the county provides office space and some staff salaries while WSU covers benefits for some positions. He said the partnership supports local 4-H programming, Master Gardener activities, small-farm and forestry outreach, the SNAP education program and county-based initiatives such as Noches Wheat.
Context: Teutoburg said the office handles a wide range of public inquiries from simple consumer questions to program registration and that the extension’s educational programs are funded jointly and already budgeted. He said this is his 13th year and that the county receives programming and education in return for its investment.
Board response: Commissioners voiced support and asked staff to place the MOA on the formal agenda. Teutoburg said the MOA terms and any program funding are already included in the county budget.
Next steps: The MOA will be placed on a regular meeting agenda for formal action; staff will bring the signed agreement and any required documentation.
