Leister Gonzales appeared before the Chattanooga Beer Board on behalf of United Grocery Outlet to check on the status of a permit application for a location at 2924 Lee Highway (Highway 58).

Staff told Gonzales that the building department approved the project on Dec. 30 and that the application still required legal approval before regulatory staff could finalize the permit. Board staff advised Gonzales to monitor the city portal and to pay the annual privilege tax through the portal once legal clearance is complete; staff said paying that tax is required before the permit can issue.

No formal board action was taken on the application during the meeting. Staff told the applicant that, if legal clears the file and no documents are missing, the remainder of the process can be completed online through the city portal.
