The Village of East Canton council approved invoices and two payroll periods for December after motions and roll-call votes.
The clerk or finance presenter moved to approve invoices in the amount shown in the meeting packet and then presented payroll for two pay periods: a first pay period ending Dec. 14 and a second pay period ending Dec. 28 (the transcript provides numeric strings that correspond to packet totals; the clerk described them as December payroll periods). Roll-call voting followed the motions and the transcript records affirmative roll-call responses from council members present.
The clerk also presented the mayor’s court report for December: total collections for the month were recorded in the packet and broken down into fines, local costs and state costs. The presenter provided a cumulative total for 2024 and the accompanying breakdown by category (fines, local costs, state costs). Councilors asked no substantive questions on those reports in the public session.
Separately, the clerk or HR presenter noted a list of officers who had not turned in required fraud-training certificates; individual names were read from the list and the matter was logged as a reminder to collect missing certificates.
Ending: The council approved the finance items and directed staff to follow up on outstanding training certificates and any questions about appropriations later as needed.
