Oklahoma County excise board approves three routine items, including $128,695.96 in child nutrition funds and amended Western Heights budget increases

The Oklahoma County Excise Board on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, approved three routine agenda items: the minutes of a Dec. 11, 2024 special session; Resolution 2025-0011 to accept state and federal child nutrition funds for Crutcher Public Schools; and Resolution 2025-0026 to receive for filing an amended fiscal year 2024-25 budget for Western Heights Public School District No. 41.
Board action came during a short, posted meeting called to order at 9:30 a.m. by a board member. A motion to approve the Dec. 11, 2024 minutes was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board then took up Resolution 2025-0011, a request from the county finance department and the county court to approve state and/or federal funds for Crutcher Public Schools’ Child Nutrition Fund for fiscal year 2024-25 in the amount of $128,695.96. A motion to approve the resolution was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The final agenda item, Resolution 2025-0026, was presented by the county finance department and the county clerk as an amended school budget filing for Western Heights Public School District No. 41 for FY2024-25. The amendment increases the district’s general fund (Fund 11) by $1,255,555 and its building fund by $487,455. One board member asked whether the change represented an error in the district’s original request; another suggested it was likely an amendment rather than a clerical error. After brief clarification the motion to receive the amended budget for filing was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
With no citizen participation, a motion to adjourn passed and the meeting ended.
