The Mayor and City Council on Jan. 6 unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to amend the contract with IMS Infrastructure Management Services to add a citywide sidewalk condition survey at a cost of $72,797.
Public Works Acting Director Brian Fields told the council the work will cover about 115 miles of city-owned sidewalks plus roughly 25 miles on state roadways that the city maintains, for a total of roughly 140 miles. “To our knowledge, this will be the first time the city has undertaken a formal citywide sidewalk condition survey,” Fields said.
