The Lowell Planning Board continued action on a proposal to build a new residential building at 463–473 Gorm Street after the applicant requested more time. The applicant, Santas Development LLC, sought site plan approval for a 39-unit building in the urban mixed-use zoning district and the multifamily mid-rise overlay.
The board’s staff told members it received a request from attorney Flood to continue the matter to Feb. 3, 2025; the board approved the continuance. The chair said associate members who were not present at the prior hearing would be able to vote at the continued session, noting participation from associates could increase the number of eligible voters.
Why it matters: The project requires Planning Board site-plan review because it proposes more than three residential units in the specified zoning district; the continuance pauses formal review and public comment until the February hearing.
What’s next: The matter is scheduled for the Lowell Planning Board meeting on Feb. 3, 2025, when the applicant and staff updates will be considered.
