County staff update facility master plan: jail trench drain, courthouse façade work and upcoming health department ribbon cutting

County facilities staff provided the Capital Projects Committee with a brief progress report on ongoing facility master-plan projects, including work at the jail, courthouse and the county health campus.
Staff said the jail trench drain installation should be completed the day of the meeting and that cell-seat (cell sealer/seat?) conversions currently in place are complete; additional funding will be sought to continue similar work. The Ring Road project servicing the jail has been put on hold until weather improves. At the courthouse, staff reported interior remodel scheduling (probation and clerk areas) is awaiting coordination with the county IT department and staff moves tied to health services relocation. Exterior courthouse façade work has begun with old seal removal and new sealant applied; stonework repairs are expected to be delayed until spring when temperatures are warmer.
Committee members praised contractors’ dedication working in cold conditions and highlighted an upcoming ribbon-cutting for the new health department building scheduled two weeks from the meeting date. Committee members encouraged attendance and thanked staff, design consultants and contractors for the project work.
No formal action was taken on the informational update; capital projects status and the CFO’s report were included in the meeting packet.
