Council passes engineering, transportation and planning consent items; delays zone-change hearing to Jan. 27

The Lincoln City Council on Jan. 6 approved several consent and public-agenda items, including professional services supplements and a local public agency (LPA) agreement with the Nebraska Department of Transportation, and voted to delay a second-reading zone-change hearing to Jan. 27.

On the consent agenda the council approved Supplement No. 2 to a professional services agreement with Olsen Inc. for preliminary engineering on Cornhusker Highway (39th Street to L55X). The council also approved an LPA agreement with the Nebraska Department of Transportation to use Surface Transportation Block Grant funds for preliminary engineering, construction and construction engineering of a bridge on West South Street over Salt Creek.

Items listed as 2A through 2C were approved on the consent agenda without discussion. The council approved Use Permit 126H (Wilderness Woods sign amendment) and the Patagonia Health EHR contract during the public-hearing portion of the agenda (those items are covered separately). The council also voted to delay Change of Zone 7060E, an application from Lincoln Federal Bancorp Inc. to amend the Wilderness Heights PUD and increase the maximum number of single-family units from 270 to 279, until Jan. 27; the delay was described by councilors as a continued public hearing with action scheduled for that date.

Roll calls recorded unanimous approval (motion carried 5-0) on the listed consent items and the LPA agreement. The council then adjourned. No public comment was recorded on the consent items during the meeting.
