The superintendent reported facilities activity: the district will host facilities tours in February for state review of construction applicants (all schools except Buxton), including district staff and a state review team to examine ADA issues, safety and educational needs. The superintendent said the district discontinued its previous facilities-use product called "Bridal" and has moved to a new system, "Operations Hero," following usability problems and a renewal date; she advised the public not to use the old product for requests after Dec. 20 and to resubmit requests in the new system if unsure.
During questions, Director Moran, Director Silvestri and others asked whether the upcoming high-school safety event was intended for all grade levels and whether the RSVP was to manage food counts. The superintendent replied the event is open to all but focused on high-school issues and that RSVPs help the school plan food.
The board also discussed a robotics presentation raised earlier in the meeting. The superintendent said the robotics activity is a school-sanctioned program that has relied heavily on volunteer and private support; she said it may be appropriate in the future to consider integrating the program more directly into the school structure as longtime volunteers consider stepping back. Director DeTotis and others signaled interest in continuing the conversation but no formal action or assignment was recorded.
