The MS 86 Board of Directors approved three memorandums of understanding with employee associations Tuesday: one with the Saco Valley Teachers Association, one with the MS 86 Support Staff Association, and one with the Saco Valley Instructional Support Personnel Association.
Director Heath moved to approve each memorandum of understanding. The first was seconded by Director Mazur; the second was seconded by Director Sargent; the third was seconded by Director Dakota's. Chair Carlo called the questions and announced each motion carried with 10 members voting in the affirmative and none opposed.
All three measures were considered after the board returned from an executive session the meeting had entered earlier under the cited statute. The board recorded no on-the-record amendments at the time of approval and did not provide detailed terms for each memorandum during the public meeting record; the executive-session discussions were governed by the confidentiality rules the board followed under 1 M.R.S.A.
Copies of the memorandums will be retained in district records; the board did not specify public release details on the meeting record. The administration and the respective associations will handle implementation per the terms of each memorandum of understanding.
