Bill, the department contracts manager (participating by phone), told the panel and the board that DCA staff have a draft RFP in progress and were hopeful the solicitation materials could be released to researchers by June 30. The board asked staff to provide a predictable timetable for the RFP process and to update the board as the contracts unit progresses through solicitation, proposal evaluation and award.
The board’s acceptance means DCA will incorporate the panel’s sentence into the upcoming RFP; once released, proposals will follow the department’s standard procurement timeline for competitive research grants.
