Carroll County to readopt official zoning map reflecting last years rezonings

Carroll County Community Development presented the annual readoption of the county's official zoning map on Jan. 2 and told commissioners the readoption will reflect rezonings approved during 2024, including property-level changes from residential to agricultural zoning.

"We're at the annual recheck and readopt the zoning map," Ben Skipper, Community Development Director, told the board. He said the readoption is routine and that the map will incorporate rezonings that took effect last year.

Commissioners agreed to place the readoption on the Jan. 7 consent agenda. Road-abandonment items referenced on the agenda (items 108 and 109) were set aside for a required public hearing at the Jan. 7 meeting and will not be included as part of the map readoption consent action.

The readopted map will be part of the public record once the board formally adopts it during the regular meeting.
