The Murray City Planning Commission on Jan. 2, 2025 voted unanimously to grant site-plan approval for a 469-square-foot addition to the Utah Woolen Mills men’s shop at 61100 South State Street.
Staff told the commission the 0.4-acre property will accommodate the proposed conference room, storage room and patio on the building’s front. The staff report said required parking for the site is 19 stalls and the applicant provided 40. Staff recommended approval subject to six conditions; no public comments were offered at the meeting.
A staff presenter summarized site and floor plans, elevations and access points, and concluded that "the proposed use is consistent with the goals and objectives of the Murray City general plan" and that the proposed plans meet the Murray City Land Use Ordinance with conditions. Eric Tiles, who said he was speaking on behalf of Utah Woolen Mills, confirmed the applicant could comply with the six conditions. "Absolutely," Tiles said when asked if the applicant would meet the conditions.
Commissioner Ned Hacker moved to approve the site plan; Commissioner Lisa Mokovich seconded. The commission then voted, with all members present voting yes, and the motion passed.
The approval is limited to the site-plan scope presented to the commission. No additional uses or tenant changes beyond those addressed in the application were proposed during the meeting. The commission chair closed the public-comment period after staff reported no emailed comments on the item.
The applicant will proceed to implement the addition subject to the six conditions noted in the staff report.
