Will Lawrenson, the county fiduciary supervisor, told the Berkeley County Commission on Jan. 2 that his office had proposed 18 estates for final settlement and that the proposed settlements matched items in the commission’s read-ahead materials.
"All estates proposed for settlement here this morning have been legally or actually noticed of their proposed pending settlement status as prescribed by West Virginia law," Lawrenson said, and he said his office had received no written notice of objection to date. He added that claims filed against the estates had been released as paid in full or in part or the estate had been declared insolvent.
Following Lawrenson’s presentation, a commissioner moved to approve the 18 estates recommended by the fiduciary supervisor; a second followed and commissioners voted by voice in favor.
The commission recorded the approval without recorded objections in the meeting transcript. Lawrenson said there were no interim settlements for January 2025 and that the estates for final settlement matched the materials provided to the commission in advance.
The action implements routine fiduciary administration under West Virginia statutory notice requirements and concluded without public objections at the meeting.
