Williamsport council elects Adam Yoder president; Eric Beiter chosen vice president

Adam Yoder was elected president of the Williamsport City Council at the council’s Jan. 2 meeting after a nomination and roll-call vote.
The council also elected Eric Beiter as vice president; that vote passed 4-1.
Councilmember Adam Yoder was nominated and seconded for the presidency; the roll call recorded unanimous support. Eric Beiter was nominated for vice president and received four affirmative votes; one councilmember voted no. The clerk called the roll for each vote.
The leadership votes were routine, with no extended debate recorded. Councilmembers who participated in the roll calls included Allison, Mackey, Pulizzi, Reiter and Yoder; the clerk recorded the outcomes. The new leadership will preside over council business and committee coordination for the year.
The council announced it will hold its next regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the same location.
