Mayor Mark Allen said at the Nov. 12 meeting that Tim Foos retired as Cibolo’s public works director effective Nov. 8 after roughly a dozen years of service and that the city is interviewing candidates for a new public works director and a new planning and economic development department head.
Allen also recapped council proclamations and community event dates announced at the meeting: a proclamation recognizing National American Indian Heritage Month given to former mayor Stosh Boyle; a proclamation for the Gamma Alpha Chi Zeta chapter related to prematurity awareness; and a proclamation changing the name of 539 Luke (the street in front of Cibolo City Hall) to "Santa Claus Lane." Allen said the city will hold a tree‑lighting ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m. on Main Street in historic downtown Cibolo in front of Harmon's Barbecue; the Cibolo Christmas parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 14, starting at 9 a.m., beginning at Walmart and ending at City Hall. Allen also announced Cibolo Fest is scheduled for Oct. 18, 2025, from about 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The meeting recap did not include discussion or votes tied to the retirement or the proclamations; Allen presented these as announcements. Details such as hiring timelines, interim staffing arrangements, funding for replacement positions and the formal record of the street‑name change were not specified in the meeting recap.
Ending
Allen said the council holds only one meeting in December and he will return with a meeting recap after that session.
