The Suffolk County Commissioners accepted the resignation of George Sullivan of Milton from his position as assistant superintendent, effective Dec. 27, 2024.

The chair read the personnel paper announcing Sullivan’s resignation and requested a motion to approve. Commissioner Richard Skeddy moved to approve the blue paper; Chairman Joseph Shai seconded the motion. The commissioners voted unanimously to accept the resignation and also gave permission for use of the commissioners’ stamps on documents as requested by staff.

Why it matters: the resignation creates a vacancy in an administrative post; staff did not present a timeline for filling the position during the meeting.
