The board discussed historical context: when the county joined Fremont County dispatch services a few years earlier the sixth pod had not been equipped, and the current request is to complete that final console.
A price discussed in the meeting was $116,373.73 for the console. Commissioners asked to hold the matter until the next CRCA meeting and to hear back from the sheriff’s office on cost allocation; board members also noted that most CRCA partners are in Fremont County and that Custer County would bear only a portion of the cost.
The item was placed on the board’s next meeting agenda for further consideration; no motion to commit county funds was made during the Oct. 22 meeting.
