Unified Fire Authority Assistant Chief (Administration and Planning) Chief Russell and Chief Kaye presented the quarterly UFA report to the Midvale City Council on Oct. 21, 2025, summarizing recent call activity, training, and winter safety reminders.

The report said the quarter included a summary of incident types and station workloads in Midvale. Chief Kaye told the council the presentation listed "61 total incidents for the quarter in Midvale City" and that 455 of the calls were categorized as emergent. He also said Station 125 logged 538 calls and Station 126 logged 423 calls during the period and that the 90th‑percentile response time was 6 minutes, 38 seconds — "that is 90% of the time we are arriving at the incident in 6 minutes and 38 seconds," Kaye said.

The presentation noted the top fire calls were four structure fires and four vegetation fires, and that EMS calls were led by sick‑person and fall‑related incidents. Officials said the workload distribution makes Station 125 the busier of Midvale’s two stations.

Chief Kaye also gave operational updates: recruit camp is nearing graduation and will add 20 new firefighters to UFA; the EMS division offers public CPR courses, the next scheduled session is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Station 126; and residents should keep portable heaters three feet from flammables and check carbon‑monoxide detectors as winter approaches.

During questions from council, a council member asked whether CPR courses are available to member‑agency staff, and Kaye confirmed they are.

The council did not take formal action on the UFA report; it was received as informational.

The UFA presentation and council questions were part of the regular city meeting that followed a same‑day workshop on Midvale’s emergency management plan.
