Staff presented changes intended to broaden the applicant pool, align the program with the city’s strategic plan and target redevelopment and activity centers.
Staff said the proposed resolution (SL4B25-09) would add three new focus areas: experiential retail, infill development and support for foundational retail infrastructure at key opportunity sites identified in the city’s land use plan. Under the proposal, individual retailers would be eligible for reimbursement of 30% of a project’s cost up to $50,000; projects affecting multiple tenants at a commercial center would remain eligible for up to 20% reimbursement with no stated cap.
