The Wayne County Committee on Public Safety, Judiciary and Homeland Security approved an amendment to a comparable-source master services and purchasing agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. for evidence management services and cloud storage covering a two-year period for $850,080.
Tony Guerrero, chief of legislation, grants and community relations for Wayne County Prosecutor Kim Worthy, told the committee the county negotiated a long-term deal that includes unlimited cloud storage under the $850,080 two-year price and said the arrangement will save the county "over $650,000" compared with prior cloud costs. Guerrero said the contract includes four additional two-year renewal options at the same price and will extend the term from September 2025 to Sept. 18, 2027.
Guerrero described the product as "an evidence management system" that "dovetails with our case management system." The committee approved the item on the same motion that approved the grant amendment earlier in the meeting; the transcript states "Motion carried."
The transcript does not record a roll-call tally or further debate about technical specifications or procurement alternatives during the committee discussion. The contract was presented as a cost-saving measure for evidence storage and integration with existing case management tools.
