The School Committee voted Oct. 22 to approve several policies and routine items.
The committee voted unanimously to approve Policy IKF (graduation requirements) following a second reading; members noted no substantive changes from the first reading. The committee then approved Policy IKFE (competency determination) as amended to list specific courses required for competency determination; the chair said the revised course list had been added and the policy must be uploaded to the DESE portal by Nov. 1. Members then approved Policy JEC (middle‑school pathway exploration).
The committee also approved a warrant/payables report for the period between Oct. 9 and Oct. 10, 2025 listing payables totaling $472,682.54, which the superintendent read into the record: general fund expenses $193,416.62; revolving expenses $273,889 (reported in transcript as $273,000 $273,889); grant expenses $5,290.37; meals tax expenses $86.55.
Finally, the committee approved the consent agenda (donations and minutes from 09/24/2025 and 10/08/2025) and moved the meeting forward to reports.
