Joshua Gracias, a senior at Ashland High School, presented an Eagle Scout service‑project proposal Oct. 22 to build and install a freestanding 4x4 storage tote rack (16 tote slots) in the high school athletic storage room and to label totes by team (for example, "Ashland boys soccer"). He described the current room as cluttered and said the rack and labeled totes will make uniforms and equipment easier for athletic staff to locate.
Committee members asked whether he had consulted athletic staff and other school administrators; Gracias said he had met initially with the prior athletic director and then with the new athletic director and had discussed the project with Miss Sankar and John Murray (associate director). Committee members confirmed the project is freestanding and does not require a permanent change to a building structure. A community service clean‑up the previous week had cleared the room in preparation, the committee heard.
A motion to approve the project as presented was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Committee members encouraged Gracias to return with photos of the completed project for the committee record.
