Committee approves two Public Works contracts; receives pavement program briefing and other reports

The Improvement and Services Committee of the Green Bay Common Council on Oct. 15 approved two Department of Public Works (DPW) contracts and received several reports, including a detailed informational briefing on the city pavement program and scheduled ribbon-cutting events.

The committee voted to award a contract titled “Traffic Signal Repair 2025” for $357,220 and a separate contract for renovations to the first-floor meeting room at City Hall for $97,190. Committee members also received and placed on file a report that the DPW issued a license to Earth to You LLC to perform sidewalk work, the DPW’s pavement-program informational memo, and a verbal director’s update that included fall leaf collection and two upcoming ribbon-cutting events.

The traffic-signal contract covers removal and replacement of traffic signals along the West Mason Street corridor between Country Club Road and Hinkle Street and at the intersection of West Mason Street, Frontage Road and Hinkle Street. The DPW told the committee the work is in the 2025 capital improvement plan and is funded largely by a WISDA grant; the memo lists the grant covering roughly 90% of the project cost, with a 10% local cost share.
