Sergeant Holden briefed the council on police activity surrounding a Charlie Kirk vigil that took place on the city square the day before the Oct. 15 meeting. Holden said the vigil was not a city event but that city public-safety staff coordinated with neighboring agencies to keep the gathering safe; he specifically thanked the Delaware Tactical Unit, the Franklin County K-9 unit and the Delaware County Sheriff's Office drone team for assistance.
Holden also reported an increase in juvenile mental-health calls and asked the public to remain observant and report concerns to the police. Council members and others thanked the department for planning and for keeping the event orderly, and several council members praised staff for the crowd-management work and cleanup.
No enforcement actions or policy changes were announced at the meeting regarding the event or juvenile mental-health responses.
