Council approves State Route 37 design contract, parking-lot parking restrictions; minutes adopted

Sunbury City Council on Oct. 15 voted to accept a preliminary design proposal for a State Route 37 road-widening and pedestrian-bridge project and adopted an ordinance establishing parking restrictions for the municipal lot at 9 East Granville Street.
The council approved Resolution No. 2025.26, accepting a proposal from American StructurePoint Inc. for preliminary design services for the State Route 37 road widening and pedestrian bridge project. The resolution passed on a roll-call vote, 7-0.
The council also passed Ordinance No. 2025.28, which establishes parking restrictions for the municipal parking lot at 9 East Granville Street and was declared an emergency; the ordinance passed 7-0 on third reading.
Separately, the council approved the Oct. 1 meeting minutes (motion passed, 6-0) and later adjourned the Oct. 15 meeting after a roll call that recorded seven yeas.
The votes concluded routine business and moved the design work for State Route 37 forward to contract negotiation and project planning. The parking ordinance takes immediate effect under the emergency declaration attached to the third reading.
