The Green Bay Protection Policy Committee on Oct. 13 recommended that the Common Council approve an appeal of an excess-animal permit denial for a property at 917 Belk Avenue.
Committee members heard that building inspection staff had signed off on the property’s fence replacement, replacing snow fencing or chain link with wood-panel fencing. An officer identified in the file as Officer Mavis told the committee she did not object to approval; the record includes two neighbor letters supporting the permit.
The committee moved and seconded the recommendation; the motion passed and the matter will be forwarded to the Common Council for final action. The committee clerk said she would record votes and recreate minutes after a temporary system outage prevented immediate electronic recording.
Speakers during the item included a staff member who reviewed inspection notes, Officer Mavis (police), Mr. Stevens (staff member who ran the agenda) and an applicant or resident who addressed the committee after the vote and thanked staff.
The committee’s recommendation does not itself finalize the permit; the Common Council will consider final approval at its next meeting.
