The Springfield Township School District Academic Affairs Committee provided the board with curriculum updates and a review of recent assessment results at the Oct. 21 meeting.
Administrators presented four course-overview maps from the high school business department, including personal finance and introduction to business. Personal finance was discussed as one of the options students may use to meet an upcoming state-required graduation expectation that will take effect in the 2026–27 school year. School and department leaders explained that the discussed courses are elective, half-credit classes that run one semester.
District leaders also presented three-year trend data for academic performance, including PSSA/Keystone results, PSAT/preACT, and graduation rates for the 2021–22 through 2024–25 cycles and disaggregated subgroup results (including economically disadvantaged students). Building principals and directors reviewed their action plans for 2025–26 and described strategies for student achievement and staff development; the academic committee will meet again Nov. 24.
