The Texas Board of Nursing accepted its fiscal‑year internal audit report from external auditors Weaver and Tidwell LP during the Oct. 23 meeting and approved the annual internal audit report required by the Texas Internal Audit Act.

Jeff Jones, senior manager at Weaver and Tidwell, briefed the board on ongoing audit activities for fiscal year 2026: an information‑security audit with an IT services follow‑up and a procurement audit (both ongoing), and a planned follow‑up on enforcement audit findings scheduled for March 2026. Jones said the external quality assurance review received a “pass” rating.

Jones told the board the fiscal‑year 2026 audit plan was risk‑based, and the auditors had already begun several engagements. Daryl Chambers moved to accept the FY25 annual internal audit report as prepared by Weaver and Tidwell LP; Mary Grace Landrum seconded the motion, and the board approved.
