City staff asks Youth Advisory Commission to take College Place comprehensive-plan survey; open house set Oct. 28

City staff urged College Place Youth Advisory Commission members on Oct. 15 to take and share a community survey supporting the city’s comprehensive-plan update and to attend an open house later this month.
Miss Garcia relayed that the comprehensive-plan update fulfills the city’s obligation to revise the plan and that planners are seeking youth input on land use, zoning, housing, the capital facilities plan, economic development and a new climate change and resiliency element. She asked commission members to take the questionnaire (available by QR code and on the city website), share it with peers and attend an open house on Oct. 28 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall to speak with planners and city officials.
Garcia characterized the comprehensive plan as guiding decisions for the next 20 years and said now is the time for youth to provide input. The commission did not take formal action on the matter; the item was advisory and informational.
